We present you Stéphanie Dekeunynck, our Maîtresse de Maison
We have the pleasure of introducing Stéphanie Dekeunynck, Maîtresse de Maison of the Hôtel de La Loze in Courchevel 1850 since December 2023.
Discover her interview below, made in December 2023:
Hello Stéphanie, you are taking over the management of the Hôtel de La Loze this winter, can you tell us a bit more about yourself?
Hello, my name is Stéphanie Dekeunynck, I am 34 years old and I am from the Var region in France.
Passionate about the hotel and catering industry, I have 19 years of experience in this field.
I started my studies at 15 with a hotel baccalaureate & finished with a management bachelor.
In order to learn and evolve in the profession, I worked in numerous 4 & 5* hotels around the world, starting with St Tropez, Switzerland, England and Spain.
At the age of 23, I flew to the Eden Rock in St Barthelemy, a 5* R&C hotel: I fell in love with this hotel and the island where I spent 3 years.
The Relais & Châteaux establishments totally correspond to my personality and my vision of luxury hotels. I then headed to French Polynesia at the 5* R&C in Taha’a where I spent 2 years as Public Relations and Concierge Manager. The group bought a 4* hotel in Bora Bora with the desire to upgrade it to R&C and I was promoted to the position of Deputy General Manager in charge of the accommodation. 3 years passed between the closure, the renovation, and the reopening of the establishment as a R&C.
After these 5 beautiful years in Polynesia, I returned to France and with my ex-fiancé. We planned to open our own establishment and found the one in Carcassonne. We bought a former 5* hotel which had been closed for 10 years, and undertook renovations in order to reopen it as a Restaurant & Boutique hotel.
A new page opens for me today as Maîtresse de Maison at the Hôtel de La Loze in Courchevel.
What attracts you about working in a Chalet Hotel in a ski resort, in the heart of Courchevel 1850, and more particularly at the Hôtel de La Loze?
Courchevel, a pioneering mountain resort symbolizing French luxury, has always been at the heart of the discussions in the world of luxury hotels: a “sure value”.
Maison Fenestraz conveys the same human values that I advocate for in the hotel industry: “friendly chic”, a family and welcoming atmosphere, all while maintaining high standards of services for our guests and a real interest in the well-being of the teams working by our side (the Fenestraz family invested in major work for the complete renovation of staff housing this year, which reinforces the clear interest we have in the comfort of our teams).
Thanks to this warm and friendly atmosphere, many customers return from season to season through these links that are established with the teams, so it was only natural that I joined the Maison Fenestraz group and the Hôtel de La Loze in Courchevel.
What can our guests expect this season?
This season promises to be full of novelties! Concerned about the well-being of our guests, the Fenestraz family has created a Spa area with sauna, hammam, and sensory showers inviting you to travel through all the establishments where Maison Fenestraz is established around the world, as well as a resting and rejuvenating room with Himalayan salt. An added value that will be more than appreciated by our guests.
Our guests will discover our Dermalogica facial treatments, our tailor-made massages as well as a signature massage by Recovery Room. The perfect combo after a day of skiing on the slopes of Courchevel.
To conclude, do you have a personal message to convey to our guests?
My teams and I look forward to welcoming you soon to the Hôtel de La Loze.
